Hey everyone!
While you guys were busy celebrating Diwali, winters and the festive season in general, we decided to give our dear Doodlepad a mini-facelift, by making the drawing area much bigger.
Now the Doodlepad resizes based on your computer’s resolution. You might not notice the change on low resolutions, but if you are using a higher resolution you will have much larger canvas.
Here’s a two screenshots, on a resolution of 1280 x 1024 (Click on the images to enlarge).

New version

This works especially well for designing collages where we earlier had a rather tiny design area.
In case you resize your browser window, remember to refresh it, so the the Doodlepad loads in the correct size.
So, design away, and keep the feedback coming.

There are new Doodlepad features in town. Here’s a rundown of the features and how to use them.
Copy/Paste:
You can now and copy and paste items in the Doodlepad with ease. Any colors, effects, fonts etc. are preserved. Use the Copy Paste buttons, or choose from the right click menu.

Crop:
Put your images into interesting shapes! Select an image and click on ‘Crop Photo’. Pick from a square, circle, star or splash shape to crop your image. In this example we picked the star shape!
Shadows and Borders:
You can add borders and shadows to your photos now. See what the above photo looks like with a shadow and a border added!
We added a shadow first.

Then we added a 5 width white border (also changed the background color to make it more visible).

Cool eh?
Tint and B&W Effects:
Last, but definitely not the least you can also add B&W and tint effects to your image!

So, that’s all for now, stay tuned for more!
Meanwhile, gO DoOdLE! :D
(By the way, there are even more reasons to Doodle - we have launched four new products: Large Mugs, Stainless Steel Travel Mugs, Mousepads and Collages (Posters) and there is a 20% introductory discount on all these. Use the coupon code NEWPRODS to avail)

Do you guys use Flickr?
Well, If you do, we have some awesome news for you.
We recently introduced a feature using which you can import your Flickr photos into itasveer - no need to upload them again!
So now you can do a lot more with your Flickr photos. Get photo prints from them or use them in the itasveer Doodlepad to create some kickass designs and put them on T-Shirts and Mugs!
Also you don’t need a Flickr Pro account to use this feature. Every Flickr user can! The only limitation is that for free Flickr accounts good quality photo prints would be available in sizes 5″x7″ or less. But there is no limitation on Tees and Mugs - so go ahead and doodle up some great designs.
Just look for the Flickr tab on your photos page to get started.

Here’s a 5 minute video on how it works. Or you can read the FAQs here.

Warning: Self-congratulatory gibberish ahead :)
We have some great news to share with you. PC World Magazine in their May 2007 issue have adjudged us as the Best Indian Website in the category Photo Printing. Their star jury panel have reviewed some 126 websites in 20 categories such as Travel, Matrimony, Entertainment, News etc. and picked the best based on Technology, Design, Usability and Content. We are rather pleased to be in the company of stalwarts like Monster, Rediff, Ebay and others.
This is what they have to say about us.
“iTasveer espouses a very clean and focused approach while providing a highly user-friendly and structured interface…its very interesting Doodlepad application lets you create interesting graphics and that be used on mugs and t-shirts, and can be ordered off the website.”
We are honored indeed (And have made this cheeky graphic to pat ourselves on our backs a little more).
And dear users - feel free to disagree, differ and point us out where we might have stumbled - so that we can make your itasveer experience even better.
ALSO:
May is here - which means time for our next monthly special! All this month enjoy a 15% discount on T-Shirts with the coupon code MAYSPECIAL.

When we put DoodlePad together, Ashish used to call our mug preview ‘chaude kaan waala aadmi‘ (a guy with broad ears). And yes, that’s precisely how it looked. So the challenge was, make Mugs in DoodlePad look like mugs.
So, with the latest release, DoodlePad now features a three-side view of your design put on mugs. Here’s what we’re talking about,

A brief about how it’s done. The problem at hand here is, cylindrical transform for a flat image or wrapping an image around a cylinder shape (the mug in our case). Going through a lot of existing 3D texturing libraries for Flash, we found they were a little too heavy for what we needed. So we decided to do it on our own. This was accomplished by splitting the image into a large number of vertical strips and placing them at coordinates calculated using simple coordinate geometry. The larger the number of strips, the better is the preview but slower is the performance. Larger number of strips also makes the job simpler as we don’t have to worry about skewing the strips, since the width and hence the skew gets negligible.
That’s it for the jargon. Hope it helps somebody.
For all our dear users and users-to-be, Happy Designing :)

Yes, it has arrived. The new, rocking and reloaded itasveer. We have added cool new products and some great new features. Let me walk you through some of the stuff and you can tell us what you think.
The itasveer product line has expanded and you can now create customised T-Shirts, Mugs and Greeting Cards with your photos and images.
You say what’s so special about that, considering so many others offer the same? Well, that’s because we have put a lot of thinking into helping you design these products like no other. The big new feature, which we are quite in love with, even if we say so ourselves, is the Doodlepad. What is the Doodlepad? Doodlepad is an online tool specially crafted for designing products. It is drag-and-drop simple yet packed with features.
What can you design with the Doodlepad? Anything you wish. Some examples will be in order, so here we go.
 |
Want to make a collage of photos? Sure - Add multiple photos, resize and rotate them and move them around. |
| A comic page effect? Sure - Add a photo, and add a speech bubble with changeable fonts and colors. |
 |
 |
A brand new design? Sure - You have ready-to-use art like Backgrounds, Border and Clipart. Mix them up, add some text and you have a unique new design. |
See some actual product samples here.
What else is new at itasveer? Many of you had asked for photo albums. We admit we have been a little late with this, but only because we wanted them to be special. Which is why we bring to you beautiful
Handmade Photo Albums created by children from the
NGO Parichay - an organisation which is doing several activities towards the personal and the social development of children, youth, and adults of the community.
Buy them here.
Wait. There is more !One of our users asked us once:
“How would one know what the final image looks like ? e.g. if the original image is 5 by 8 and one wants 4 by 6 size, how does one know how the image is clipped to the appropriate size ?” Well now you can. We have introduced
Cropping Controls to help you specify what part to clip and what part to keep, or not clip any at all.
Click here to learn about cropping.
We will post details/demos of these features individually soon.
Hey, and don’t forget - you guys better keep sending us any issues that you might face and your thoughts/suggestions.
