Hello world – Let’s get talking
January 20th, 2007
Hi! Welcome to the itasveer blog. It is great to be able to finally speak with you.
So what is this blog going to be about? Well, of course, about the latest happenings at itasveer, but more importantly this blog is about you – our users. So feel free to write in about anything and everything, and we’ll respond.
To quote from the Cluetrain Manifesto: “(Theses#82) Your product broke. Why? We’d like to ask the guy who made it. Your corporate strategy makes no sense. We’d like to have a chat with your CEO. What do you mean she’s not in?”.
We’ll see how it goes.

Since it’s the start of a fresh year, most of the customers would like to have calendars booked through your site having their respective photos. I surely logged into your site for the same reason. Photo printing as a single concept is spreading fast and there are many sites which offer this facility and a few even offer for free, though they are not Indian sites. I don’t see that feature anywhere. I would surely like to use one of these features (calendars, photo books, custom made photo frames etc…), and so do I have many friends who would like to do the same. Infact, I have an immediate requirement for a calendar and big sized poster (on canvas or matte or glossy paper), which unfortunately aren’t provided by any Indian sites (or may be I didn’t explore properly). These additional ones may make your site the best Indian photo printing site.

hi
i would like to appreciate the website and the way it has made photo sharing exciting and easier. Earlier i used to wait after my bandwidth usage used to expire on flickr. The is one of the most exciting site i have ever seen. one hell of an exciting businees strategy.
but i would like to focus on one point. i think you will get increased no of orders if you allow payment from internet banking also. as i am a student so i dont have credit card. please consider this!!

Hi Nikhil, thanks for writing in.
You can already pay through an internet banking account. On the payment gateway page (provided by CCAvenue), look for the option “Pay Using Your Internet Enabled Bank Account”. There is a drop down menu which lists several banks.
Perhaps we need to state this more ‘loudly’ on the site somewhere.
If you try it out, do let me know how it worked for you.

Nice site…. finally someone figured out a very easy and simple way to send photos to our loved ones in India.
A suggestion, can you provide a way for us to enclose a covering note with the photos to the recepient? It will be a very easy way for us to describe what they are getting.
Another suggestion, Picasa (from google) has a way where you can upload photos directly to various sites that print photos. Is there a way that you can register yourselves with them so we can directly upload photos from that software.
Thanks and keep up the good work.

Hi Anisha – You can view and order IITD Rendezvous 2006 photos from http://www.itasveer.com/shared/rendezvous06. More details in the email sent to you.
Hi Satish,
Thanks for the appreciation and the suggestions. I think the covering note is an interesting idea – will give it some thought and will definitely get back to you.
As far as Picasa is concerned, we have already written to them – awaiting their reply.

Keep up the good work. I tried your service and we liked it. Ordered on 2nd April and we got the prints in hand on 5th April. I liek the way you let the users track their consignment. The print is really good.
Just worried about one small aspect. Cropping in vertical photos is being done even if the original photo does not need one. Any idea why ?
Anyway, I will continue to use your service and hope you provide the same service.
thanks
Bharani

Great Site and would love to use it. However, I have a 6 mp camera and file size of the original picture is over 1 MB, How can I reduce the size to get the best quality print for a 4X6 print Matt finish. I would like to upload more than 100 pics, which means it’ll take a couple of hours?? can you suggest a solution??

@Bharanidharan
I’ll try and see if this was a bug, or because of some other manual error. I’ll send you an update.
@Ram
Well since we’ve already sorted this over email, as discussed, we’ll put up a tutorial on this shortly.
